I've been working away on three creations in the last couple of weeks. During Valentine's week I created a beautiful red sheath dress with red rose motifs. Last week I added a fabulous pencil skirt to my collection - pictures to follow this week. During the week I purchased some vintage vogue patterns; I started work on a design inspired by this little number above. I've never come across a skirt that is so full. I've certainly got my hands full (of material) with this one...

My favourite dress. I love a sheath dress, to me glamour is about simplicity - I'm with Coco Chanel on this one. This pattern is New Look 6653 and it's the holy grail of dresses. I love it. I've made it twice already. I've made it in purple plaid - shown here under construction - I've worn this a lot this winter. The first time in this Royal Doulton print (bottom) - which is perfect for summer. I wore it for a summer birthday party - strawberries and cream.

Pink fluffy skirt. Pink is not a colour I'm often attracted to in a skirt but when I saw this gorgeous crepe cotton with tulle embellishment I thought of ice cream & I couldn't resist. I made this skirt last June - I loved the finished product but I've hardly worn it. The pattern was Simplicity 2656 - I also made a pair of cullottes from the same pattern - perfect for my bike riding...
Hello there...
Hi I'm Charlie and I love to sew vintage inspired creations. I'm a wife, mum, cyclic chic advocate and I work as well and there never seem to be enough hours in the day! I'll be posting here about my creations; successes and failures; my life, my family, my ups, my downs but mostly about my sewing.
I love glamour and I'm inspired by the glamour pusses of the twentieth century - my blog title in an homage to my favourite!
